As a part of the detoxification process in my life I decided that along the way I would replace the cosmetics and skincare items that I was using currently with products of a more natural origin . This has been some process . There is SO much information out there that it can be really overwhelming . I am learning everyday and researching natural products has become one of my favourite things to do #geeklife .
I thought I would share with you the reviews of products that I use and purchase because I always believe in spreading the good word . I must touch on the fact that I have always battled with my skin and that I have belief that your skin is greatly altered for positive or negative by of course what you ingest . I am no expert in this area either . It is just simply my opinion and what works for me . My skin type is a difficult one dry / sensitive / prone to eczema and hormonal acne . . . Winning combination 😉 I think next to what you eat and drink in taking care of yourself is grooming . If you are well groomed and maintained the rest is easy . . . From a good haircut to your skin being well looked after . The object is to look good without being made up in my eyes .
I have been aware of skincare from a very young age due to being covered in eczema as a baby and it rears its ugly head once and a while as an adult usually a symptom of a synthetic product , environmental or stress related . My Mum was incredibly onto it as I grew up . She treated my eczema with dietary exclusions and the additions of the likes of Omega oil , aloe vera juice and trips to the ocean and blasts of sun to name a few things . She was thinking well outside the box for the early 80’s & we trialed a lot on the skincare front . I thank her a lot as it taught me how to look after myself in a different type of way .
In my next blog I will get straight into product reviews . I hope to deliver news in the holistic world not just about fashion and am open to any suggestions . Drop me some mail hello@holi.co.nz . I’d love to hear from you .
