That way of consuming has never appealed to me, as I’m a buy for needs type of a gal. I splurge on the occasional lust-have; albeit very well thought out and researched. That’s why holi is a slow fashion brand. Times are changing.
Here at holi, we take a one day at a time kind of approach to life. From a personal aspect, worrying about the future only adds to anxiety and creates energy thinking about something that currently does not exist. I see that Spring/Summer 16/17 is entering its way to our screens and local clothing racks. You need not reminding that it is August and that it is still winter here in New Zealand, and it will feel like winter to at least late October/early November….
I just want to enjoy these crisp mornings, with the fresh air hitting my face, wrapped in wool and drinking hearty soups. I’m not ready for tanning, waxing, and white wine just yet. That will have its time. Enjoy the now.
Trans-seasonal fashion fits in so finely with the New Zealand climate, which can vary from summer in winter and the reverse. That’s why we carefully select our fabrics, whether it’s the luxe bamboo or our beloved woollen superhero merino. Both can be worn all year around for warmth or to keep cool. They are that clever; breathable, comfortable, and natural. Add a special edition Big Knit jumper, and you’re sorted for even the coldest wintery blast.
We’ve chosen to step away from releasing seasons ahead. It’s against the grain industry-wise, but if we don’t buy into it then neither do our conscious customers.
Start somewhere, start small.
